Interface layout

The program interface consists of the toolbar (1), the presets panel (2), the masks panel (3), the histogram panel (4), the parameter panels (5), the workspace (6) and the status bar (7).

The interface layout can be configured by changing the position of the panels. A panel can be moved by clicking its name with the left mouse button and dragging it to another location. A panel can also be detached from the main window and left as a floating window.

The interface layout can be reset to restore the default layout. To do this, click the icon located on the toolbar. Restoring the default layout requires restarting the program — the program will offer to restart immediately.

Program options

The program options window is opened by clicking the icon located on the toolbar.

In this window you can set:

• Language
  
  The SNS-HDR interface is available in the following languages: Bulgarian, Czech, Dutch, English, German, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.
   
• Theme color
  
  The program has two built-in color themes (brown and blue), which define the leading color of the interface.
   
• TEMP directory
  
  The directory in which the program stores temporary files while processing images. By default, the temporary directory of the operating system is used. You can specify your own directory, e.g. located on a faster or larger drive.
   
• Presets directory
  
  The directory in which the presets are stored. By default, this is the SNS-HDR/Presets subfolder of the user's documents folder. You can specify your own directory, e.g. one shared between several computers.

Changing the above options requires restarting the program. After closing the window, the program will offer to restart immediately.

Workspace background brightness

The brightness of the workspace background can be changed in the program. To do this, click the icon and then select the desired color from the drop-down list.

Monitor color profile

SNS-HDR has a built-in color management module and fully supports monitor color profiles. The program always uses the color profile of the display on which its window is located, as set in the operating system (it is updated when the window is moved to another display); hovering the mouse over the icon shows the name of the profile in use. Monitor profile support is enabled by default and can be switched off and on by clicking the icon – when it is off, the image is displayed without conversion (as on an sRGB monitor).

The monitor profile is active when the icon is permanently highlighted.

Working profile

The icon selects the working profile: the color space in which the image is kept, rendered and saved (the profile is embedded in the output file unless the "Convert to sRGB" option is used when saving). Source images are always merged and analyzed in a common internal space, so the result does not depend on the profile of the input files; the merged image is then converted to the working profile. For TIFF, JPEG and HEIC sources it is their embedded profile, for RAW (and HDR files without a profile) the "RAW/HDR profile" chosen in the "Create image" window (Adobe RGB by default); another profile can be selected from the list opened by clicking the arrow next to the icon. Processing in a wide space such as Adobe RGB gives better results than processing in sRGB even when the result is later converted to sRGB when saving. Changing the profile converts the image – the colors stay the same, only the available gamut changes: colors that do not fit in a narrower space (e.g. sRGB) are clipped, while a wider space (Display P3, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto RGB) preserves them. Hovering the mouse over the icon shows the name of the profile currently in use.
