old vs new

Postby Dennis Jarensky » Thu Sep 01, 2016 12:11 am

I've been using SNS Pro v1.4.22 for some time now, I just downloaded the new version and like all the extras however I liked using the interior preset on the original version, now when I use interior with the updated version I get a finished photo that is way too dark and has too much contrast. Using the same camera and type/size of photos as before. Can the new version be tweaked to put put out a similar look? and can the settings then be saved?

You can modify the presets. Can you show me an example image?

This is an fairly mild example of an interior image using two exposures but other images are even more exaggerated when using Version 2. Exteriors using 3 different exposures are also very dark. With the original version I usually have to make the images a bit darker and add more color in LR, but I love the output of SNS.
Thanks
Dennis

Here is an example of an exterior photo, the original is lighter and shows more detail in the sky.

The first image of the interior looks better to me. The second image of the outside has too much detail in the sky, does not look natural. But this is only my opinion.
Why don't you use the Brightness parameter or curve to lighten images?

Thanks for your reply, I know it comes down to personal preference and I do tweak the photos later in LR so I guess I can do the same with the new version. If I manage to get a similar look in Ver 2, is there a way to save it as a new preset?

You can create a new preset or modify an existing presets. You look at the tools of the presets panel.
