Hello Sebastian,
many thanks for this beta version. It was well worth waiting for it, the general results are really good, much better in fact than 1.4.22

I use the command line version for testing, with preset Natural. I challenged the new version with an image sequence where 1.4.22 failed. To my surprise the new one failed, too. With almost the same symptoms.

But when I tried to crop the source images to the relevant area before feeding them to 1.x I found something strange - the result was perfect:
_MG_1271_0002-HDR(3)_Natural1.jpg
result from cropped source images
_MG_1271_0002-HDR(3)_Natural1.jpg (215.81 KiB) Viewed 18959 times

Command line was -da -natural -tiff16 in both cases. Both are full resolution crops.

Here the result from full size source images cropped later:

result from full size source images (cropped later)
_MG_1271_0002-HDR(3)_Natural.jpg (191.42 KiB) Viewed 18959 times

The grey posterized area and the shadows around the leaves are the same like from version 1.4.22

You can download the source images (16 bit TIFFs, 269MB ZIP) for testing from http://www.erik-krause.de/_MG_1271.zip

best regards
Erik

Erik, The moving hand changes the tones statistic, so the errors occurs in the removing ghosts process. I will try to fix it, but now I recomend to cut this hand.

Hmmm... Does this mean any moving subject could cause this? That would foil de-ghosting at all...

This is a special case, where the movement of the hand changes the amount of dark tones in the image. Current algorithm can not work properly.

This is bad news :-( I shoot for panorama stitching and the hand is needed to block direct sunlight to avoid lens flare (one image needs the sun in it of course). Without that a panorama like this one would look awful: http://www.worldwidepanorama.org/worldwidepanorama/wwp1214/fullscreen/ErikKrause-8643.html

It's amazing!
With teh same Pictures and the same Workflow the processing Time is 26,5% faster than 1.4.22! The Results are even better then in 1.4.22!

Great Work! :D
