Resolution Limit on Trial Version?

Postby shakeshuck » Tue Nov 04, 2014 5:36 pm

Hi,

I am trialling SNS at the moment. If I load large resolution images, everything works fine until I try to save it. Attempting to save the image causes a 'External component has thrown an exception' message.

Is there a resolution limit for the trial version, or have I found a bug? :(

There is no limit for the image size.

How big is the image?
How much RAM you have?
What is your operating system?

Hi Sebastian,

They are effectively double resolution; I tried two - the (slightly) smaller is 9392x6256.

I also just noticed that neither of them have ICC info (it must have been stripped out by other software), in case that makes a difference.

Using Windows 7, 64-bit with 8GB of RAM - I'm not seeing more than 6GB used during processing.

Thanks.

In what format you save images?

In order to double-check the answer to your question, I tried a save again - and it worked. I then started Firefox and tried another save, and it failed.

Task Manager and Resource Monitor say there's memory to spare, but it looks as though I'm hitting a system limit somewhere.
I'm going to have to go and do some system diagnostics...

Sorry for wasting your time.
