"but do you all recommend PWP"

I was lucky in that when I started down the digital road from film I was pointed to Picture Window (I am not sure it was Pro in those days) and Qimage (for printing).

DEN and I both swear by it. It was written, and still is, by a photographer. Photoshop is a design program adopted for photography.

As here there is an active forum and just as Sebastian is never far away to solve queries the same is the case at PWP. Costwise it is sometimes not the initial cost but the cost of regular upgrades that need to be considered. I'm not the one to do the sums but DEN may have a feel as to how things compare.

We both have a bit of fun from time to time looking at pictures on other chat groups and seeing how we'd solve the problem with PWP. It is rare that we get beaten by the opposition!

Hi den,

how long did it take you to get those results on my image? I have a few hundred of images not all have 3 different light types but there are quite a lot......

Cheers

Image

I tried to use some masking to correct the greeny cast. Next will try the PWP but its new software so bit worried about the time to spend on each image as well as learning new software - anyway will try it next and see!

zymon... ...and interested Others:

...if of interest, Color Mechanic is a PhotoShop plug-in that does the same thing as Picture Window Pro's Color Correct transform as show in the screen shot below. It takes less than a minute to do once you decide what is needed. In the screen shot, the fluorescent lightning, the balcony support, and end table side hues were de-saturated 65% by moving their respective "control point" arrow heads towards the color [Hue, Saturation] hexagon's white spot. A subsequent change could be done if the interior lighting preference is to have a warmer color...

Color Mechanic: http://dl-c.com/content/view/16/30/

Color Mechanic [and PWP's Color Correct tranform] utilizes the HSV color space model where Hue, Saturation, and Value [0 to 255 gray tones] can be adjusted independently of each other.

I believe you can change WB using masks in SNS HDR and applying different WB to each mask.

the latest version does not have the white balance anymore infact the bottom half of the right panel is very different - but looks powerfull - dont think it can achieve what Den did to my image though!
