The Ultimate SNS HDR Machine

I'm very pleased right now with the performance and speed of SNS HDR on my PC.

I have a 4-core i5-3750K CPU running at stock 3.4Ghz, with 8GB RAM and an Nvidia GTX 670 GPU.

I'd like it to be even faster!!! So which upgrades would make the most difference?

1. Should I over clock my CPU?
2. Upgrade to an i7 CPU?
3. Get a CPU with more cores? 6? 8?
4. More RAM?
5. Faster RAM?
6. A more powerful GPU like a GTX780, Titan or ATI R9 290X?

What can I do to supercharge my SNS HDR Processing times? :)

Which of these improvements would help the most? What kind of performance would each gain me? (roughly speaking of course)

Thanks!!

Paul

You wait for version 2, will be much faster. You can only upgrade the RAM to 16GB.

Just curious what kind of time you're getting?
I have an i7-3820, 32GB RAM, with a GeForce 660TI 2GB video card.
I can process 5 bracketed 20.2MP images in about 75 seconds

Also, any word on v2?

To the op, only cpu matters, at least in the available version.
Look at socket 2011 i7, those should bring about a tangible boost.

I am looking at buying a new machine, one with dual Xeon processors. Will I benefit more from having more processor cores, or a faster clock speed?

Thanks,
Curt

From my testing, SNS loves cache and cores.
SB i5 2500k vs SB i7 3930k, 42s vs 25s at the same clock speed.
2 more cores and more cache almost half the rendering time.
