"unkown error"

I'm running SNS-HDR on an iMac using Parallels and Windows XP. I have 16 GB of RAM and a fast processor. When I first used SNS-HDR, everything worked as it should. Recently, though, I am unable to get a merged image.

I drop four JPG or TIFF files into SNS-HDR and it goes to work. The progress bar gets to 100 percent and then I get a message that says "unknown error" or "unknown exception."

Help, please.

This error occurs when you reduce the image size?
You have set a fixed amount of RAM in Parallel Sesktop?

Sebastian,

I have not yet tried to reduce image size. I am trying to blend 4 images, 12 MB each. I want images as large as possible for use in 360 panoramas.

I increased RAM allocation in Parallels to 12 MB; same outcome.

Could this be related to free space on my startup drive? My startup drive currently has about 16 GB available.

Sebastian,

SNS-HDR worked when I reduced image size by 27 percent.

Original image: 4912 x 6144 (D800 Nikon) = failed

New Image Size (chosen at random): 3600 x 4503 = Success

Is the failure related to a shortage of RAM? I allocated 12 GB to SNS-HDR, out of an available 16 GB.

Or is the failure related to a shortage of hard drive space for virtual images during processing?

I'd very much like to use all the pixels available from my camera.

Thanks very much.

Are the images from D800 were previously processed correctly?

Yes, I think so. But I have not attempted this very much with D800 images.

This is strange. It seems that the problem is with RAM, but 12GB should be enough for sure.
