Batch mode preset selection ignored when source is SNSX file

Postby milvont » Sat May 23, 2026 12:25 am

Hi all,

I've run into a workflow issue and wanted to check whether I'm missing something, or whether this might be worth considering as a feature request.

I have a set of .snsx project files that I created via batch mode using a custom preset called _Mine12. I now want to re-process those same images using a different preset, _Mine15, and output new JPEGs. My assumption was that I could add the .snsx files as the source in batch mode, select _Mine15, and run the batch.

However, the output always uses _Mine12 (the preset that was originally stored in the .snsx files) regardless of what I select in the batch UI.

So, my only options seem to be:
- Go back to the original brackets and re-run the batch from scratch
- Open each .snsx file individually and re-export one at a time

Is there something I'm missing that would let me override the original preset when batch-processing .snsx files? If not, would it be feasible to add an option in batch mode such as "override project preset with selected preset" for .snsx sources? That would make it much easier to experiment with different looks across a large set of already-merged images.

Thanks for any insight!

The SNSX file was designed as a project file with embedded presets. This format was intended to speed up semi-automatic processing. Indeed, the behavior in automatic mode currently seems illogical.

Use semi-automatic mode if you want to quickly process images with a different preset. After loading the first image into the editor, select the correct preset and then apply it to each of the remaining images by clicking the arrow button.
