new Canon 5Ds RAWS

Postby bigsnow48 » Thu Jun 25, 2015 12:20 pm

I had already written about this problem, but I have not seen solutions. I just bought the canon 5DS and it is impossible to use new raw with SNS HDR.
As I had already written new dcraw not work even with old raw. I also tried on SNS HDR Pro 1x. I am waiting for help.
I don't know what else to do.

Make sure that Sebastian's most recent "dcraw.exe" file in your SNS-HDR program folder(s) has that exact name and that any other/previous "dcraw.exe" file that remains in the folder has had a name change...

I leave previous renamed "dcraw.exe"'s in the folder with desktop program links as they can function as Windows stand-alone compiles for DCoffin's 'dcraw' and used for reference purposes.

I had already put the dcraw 9.26.1.1 into the directory of SNS HDR but does not work with the new raw of canon 5DS.

At this time the only program HDR that works with the RAW of 5DS seems the DPP of Canon, but results
are not even comparable to SNS, hopefully soon Sebastian give me a solution.

...If you wanted to investigate further, you could download either one of the Windows 'dcraw' compiles here: http://www.centrostudiprogressofotografico.it/en/dcraw/
for "dcraw.exe" and use options: " -v -w -6 -T" which should produce a decoded raw file to 16-bit full-sized tiff with sRGB colors; camera WB; blended highlights; and auto brightness/contrast... ...however this "dcraw.exe" may not work with SNS-HDR algorithms when placed in the SNS-HDR program folder(s)... ...but may indicate that DCoffin's current dcraw9.26 does or does not support the 5Ds...

There is nothing that says you have to use SNS-HDR's raw decoding provisions... ..I routinely for high quality prints will use either Canon DPP or Fuji RFC2.0 for my cameras' raw file conversions to 16-bit tiffs and input the tiffs to SNS-HDR for image blending and tone-mapping with a prefered and sometimes modified Preset... ...Note: SNS-HDR will process a single tiff [or jpeg] or a set of tiffs [or jpegs] as input(s)...

You may find that by doing so that you will have better resulting SNS-HDR images because of the camera specific user accessible controls for reducing luma/color noise; optimizing lens characterics; and reducing lens aberrations, especially for DPP if you have downloaded the data libraries for the lenses that you have...

...have fun with your new camera...

Try converting a few to DNG and see if SNS will process them. Here's the converter: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/ ... rm=Windows

Thank you very much "bfreas". Your was a good suggestion. The only problem that remain is that the files of raw 5DS in SNS HDR require a very very long processing times.
